Crème Caramel Cake (CHOCOLATE FLAN)
Crème Caramel Cake or Qudrat Qadir, which means 'Made By Miracle'. It got the name because the cake rises to the top & the creme caramel settles on the bottom. It truly is a Magical Dessert.
This cake is from the Mediterranean cuisine. One of the masterminds of dessert recipes came up with a way to mix them both together in one dish. So you can enjoy the fluffy and strong taste of chocolate cake with the refreshing and rich taste of crème caramel.
It is an absolute delight to enjoy both of your favourite desserts in one, The chocolate Cake & The Crème Caramel. You can also skip the cake and only make the Crème caramel and enjoy by itself. It's still perfectly Desserty!

This recipe is made in 3 easy steps. Firstly, the Caramel, followed by the Crème and finally the chocolate cake. Three yummylicious layers of sweetness.
Crème Caramel Cake

1 cup sugar
2 tsp water
For the Crème
2 cups milk
1/2 tsp vanilla essence
1/2 cup granulated sugar
For the Cake
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup oil
1/2 cup Milk
1 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
2 tbsp cocoa powder
1/2 tsp vanilla essence
In a saucepan combine sugar and water. Heat until sugar is dissolved over medium heat.
Make sure you are all-eyes or it burns down quickly. Remove from heat once you have amber color.
Pour caramel over 8-9 inch,20-23cm cake pan, tilting carefully to coat evenly. Let cool.
In an electric mixer, add all the ingredients & mix until well combined.
Pour this mix over the cold caramel.
Preheat oven to 180°.
Beat eggs on a medium speed with an electric mixer. Add sugar & vanilla and mix until well combined. Add the oil & milk & beat until well combined.
Add flour , cocoa powder & baking powder and give it a good mix.
Pour the batter over the Crème caramel mixture evenly.
Place cake pan into a large baking dish and pour boiling water into the pan to reach half way upside.
Bake in the water bath for an hour, or until set.
Let cool outside for an hour, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours to overnight.
Before serving, place cake pan in hot water bath for a minute to liquify caramel on the bottom, then turn the cake pan up side down on a serving plate.
