FISH STICKS

I’ll be making them again soon And I’d suggest you give it a try. It’s going to be a tasty treat. So here‘s what we need for making this very easy snack or you can even make it as a side dish.

The main ingredient is the fish. Try using fresh fish as it’s best. You’ll have to work gently on making the sticks. Keep them evenly Sized. Pat dry so as not to have any water left while we start to work with them.

This is how I had mine cut into sticks -

Cook time : 10 minutes

Total time : 20 minutes

SERVES : 4


INGREDIENTS

6 Boneless fish fillet ( Cut into an inch size)

3 tsp of gram flour

1/2 teaspoon of salt

1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon of chili powder

1/2 teaspoon of onion powder

1/2 teaspoon of black pepper powder

1/4 cup of water

Breadcrumbs for coating

Oil for deep frying

INSTRUCTIONS:

1.Cut the fish fillet into thin (1 inch size) finger sticks.

2.Pat dry with a paper towel.

3.Prepare the batter by mixing all the dry ingredients, gram flour, salt , pepper, chili powder, onion powder and garlic powder. Now add water gently and mix it well. Make sure no lumps are there.Don’t make it too runny as it won’t coat the fish sticks well enough.

4.Now lets start coating. First put the fish sticks in the liquid batter and then coat them with the breadcrumbs one at a time.

Do this until all the fish sticks are well coated.

5.Heat oil in a pan and fry them. Don’t overcrowd the pan. Do it in batches.

6.Fry them for 5-6 minutes. They don’t take longer as fish cooks real quick. So don’t over cook them.

7.Remove them on an absorbent paper.

8.Serve hot with any dip/sauce of your choice that you think would go well with them. Enjoy!
